Hiya- thanks for the welcome and nice to meet you Nathan. Well done on setting up this site; I haven't had a chance to really get involved here yet but I look forward to doing so soon!
Hi Nathan -- I enjoy this work of yours -- how do I make my dojo website a "partner?" - nick its www.windsongdojo.com

Hey Nathan - I always liked picture books better then long wordy one - I think we need some pictures up here! how about sending a broadcast message out to everyone asking to post the oldest picture they have of themselves doing martial arts, and right next to it, the most recent? then you can create a slide show on the front page for everyone to see!
just a thought - looks like the membership is growing which is awesome.
I've poked around a little and this seems to be a cool forum. I'm heading off to a ground work seminar today. My background is in wrestling in grade-school, lima lama, kenpo, boxing (for some full-contact training) so bjj should be interesting.
Personally I am more of a striker but according to my association, they want to include bjj as it is realistic to today's fighting methods (as well as partially where kenpo came from).

Hey, I survived Muay Thai last night! It wasn't as bad as last week, but I go there and I feel seriously out of shape. I can move this morning and it doesn't hurt. The kicks were a little easier, too, but I practiced. It's hard to not snap the leg back into the roundhouse position, but I'll get there. Just feels good to hit pads again and work on my positioning. In karate we get so caught up in kata and practical applications. Not that is a bad thing. It's just nice to train the street stuff, too.
I'm going to check out a class at Gordon White's dojang tomorrow. Turns out he and my husband were buddies back in high school!
Just posted a new blog post. A suggestion, (and you have your reasons for setting stuff up I understand) - but I would put the latest activity module closer to the top, its the easiest way to keep track of what is new on the site!
I am currently sitting in Al Asadd Iraq. I have been in Iraq since April. I will be back in VA on the 25th of Nov. I hope to try and make it up to Manassas area while I am there. When you get a chance I have a few questions for you. Hope all is going well. I love this new site. Hope to start Kempo when I get back to Lincoln City. Thank you for everything.

Thank you for having me aboard. I look forward to exploring things in more detail in the next week.
What a nice welcome, Nat! :-) In time I will. I'm dealing with the stress of year end and cash flows for the company. Imagine - I can only make time for 2 training sessions a week! Sad. Talk soon. Colin

I'd be happy to meet up the next time you are in the area. I don't have my own school (lack of $$) but I am a member of the Heilman Karate Academy.
Drop me an email next time you are planning to come up and we can make it happen.
Michele
