Match Games

We had about 25 people participate in match games last night. (Match Games are like a "scrimmage" for Taekwondo competitors) - We set up two rings with Electronic scoring, and ran matches for 2 one minute rounds. The matches started at 5:45, there were about 15 juniors (11 and younger) most of them had 3 matches by 6:45. The 12 - 17 year olds and adults started around 7, and wrapped up by 8:00.

I think that Tournaments provide a fantastic learning experience for Taekwondo students. The problem… Continue

Thank you! We are very fortunate to have the great facility we're in. Nick Lowry is the owner & head instructor, as well a member here. He spoils us ;)

I had such a fantastic time! The back of my legs are very sore this morning. I haven't kicked that much in a long time, but it felt so great. What I want to comment on is that all of your students were exceptionally cordial and a few even enquired about my training and how it was different from what they were doing. It's nice to see tradition carried on in a martial arts setting. My dojo in Manchester, VT, was very traditional. In fact all of them are (Rutland being the main one). All the respect, it's fantastic. I'm not sure if I'll come back soon since finances are tight right now and I can only do so much, and I need to put more time into my karate since I'm training for nidan. Once I start working again (I'm a massage therapist and am working on getting a practice running up here. I had a very busy, ten year practice in Manchester until I moved) I will be able to do more. I would really love to do some more training with you and your students. Thank you again.

Are you at class this Saturday? Looks like you're going to a seminar. If that's the case then I come to class next Saturday. Also, do you remember Geoffrey Bowen? I'm married to him, and he remembers you from CVU days. He has this amazing picture of you performing this kick. You're high in the air and the kick is aimed both in front and behind you. I'll bring it when I check out a class.

Yep, yep, in the States. Doing well. Engaged to The Good Man himself!

(A big change from when you last found me, crying in Starbucks because of his mother...!)

I'll put it across to the fam to see if that's a possibility for me. I say yes, but it's a democracy when there's more than one! Also, do I wear my belt or should I come beltless. Also, all I have are black gi's, is that okay?

Hi, Gordon,
Is your dojang ever open during the day? Also, when do you have classes? My free hours are Mon/Tues from 12 until 2:30, anytime Wed. until 2, Fri. from 12:30 until 2:30 and weekends. I would love to stop by the dojang to check it and a class out sometime soon.
